“My practice is devoted to the improvement of patients’ vision and lifestyle with a goal of achieving the best vision possible for each individual. I am committed to staying up to date with the most current research and innovations in the field of retinal disease and treatment. I have a particular focus in diabetic eye disease and macular degeneration. Please visit my educational website for more information and my personal take on different disease pathologies.” Dr. Friedman has been with our practice for 5 years. He is a retina specialist that treats retinal detachments, diabetic eye disease, and macular degeneration. He also focuses on uveitis and neuro-ophthalmology cases.
After completing his undergraduate degree at Brown University in Rhode Island, Dr. Friedman returned to his home city of New Orleans for medical school. He completed his ophthalmology residency at the University of Alabama at Birmingham/Callahan Eye Hospital and proceeded to a 2-year vitreoretinal fellowship with Retina Consultants of Alabama. This surgery-focused fellowship allowed him to acquire the necessary skills to treat retinal detachments, macular puckers, and diabetic retinopathy with enhanced surgical techniques.
Dr. Friedman enjoys spending his free time with his family exploring all that San Antonio has to offer. He is particularly interested in baking, cooking, discovering new restaurants, and anything related to food.
